Toronto's Lind lifted after getting hit by pitch

Toronto designated hitter Adam Lind has left the Blue Jays' game against the Oakland Athletics after getting hit by a pitch near his right wrist.

Lind was batting in the first inning Saturday night when he was hit by a pitch from A's left-hander Gio Gonzalez. The game was paused briefly while a trainer came out to check on Lind, who remained in the game and took third on Edwin Encarnacion's RBI single.

When Lind's spot came up in the batting order in the third, Mark Teahen was announced as a pinch-hitter.

The Blue Jays already were without slugger Jose Bautista, who was a late scratch just before the game due to tightness in his neck.
