Toronto third baseman Brett Lawrie has stopped his rehab for a right oblique injury after feeling sore when he woke up Tuesday.
Manager John Farrell says Lawrie isn't yet to a point where he might need to be shut down for the season. Lawrie is hitting .282 with nine home runs, but has been on the disabled list since Aug. 4.
Farrell also says right-hander Brandon Morrow, who hasn't pitched since June 11 because of a left oblique injury, likely will start Saturday at Baltimore.
The Blue Jays selected the contract of catcher Yorvit Torrealba from Double-A New Hampshire before Tuesday night's game at Detroit. Catcher-infielder Yan Gomes was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.
