Tony Sanchez agrees to minor league deal with Blue Jays

TORONTO (AP) Catcher Tony Sanchez has agreed to a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays and will attend major league spring training.

The 27-year-old, whose deal was announced Friday, was with the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization for seven seasons after being selected fourth overall in the 2009 amateur draft.

The Miami native has appeared in 51 major league games during the past three seasons, hitting .259 with four homers and 18 RBIs.
