Tigers' Shane Greene leaves minor-league start early

Published Jun. 22, 2015 1:13 p.m. ET

Detroit Tigers starter Shane Greene left Sunday's outing for the Triple-A Mud Hens after the fourth inning due to a blister on his right finger, according to MLive.com.

Greene was tagged for four runs on seven hits and a walk before exiting. He fared much better in his last start, throwing 7 1/3 innings of shutout ball last week.

The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A Toledo on June 12 after struggling for the third straight start in Detroit. In his last 10 starts with the Tigers, he allowed 41 earned runs, causing his ERA to balloon to 5.87.

It's unclear whether Greene will make his next scheduled start for the Mud Hens.
