Tigers' Infante leaves game with back stiffness

Published Aug. 17, 2013 11:13 p.m. ET

Detroit Tigers second baseman Omar Infante has left a game against the Kansas City Royals with lower back stiffness.

He was replaced at the start of the seventh inning by Ramon Santiago. The Tigers say Infante is day to day.

Infante was activated from the disabled list earlier in the week after being out for more than a month with a sprained left ankle. He is hitting .315 with six homers and 29 RBIs.
