SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) The Texas Rangers optioned Chi Chi Gonzalez to Triple-A Round Rock Friday, one day after he allowed one hit in five scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds.
The 2013 first-round pick was 2-1 with a 4.73 ERA in spring training. He went 4-6 with a 3.90 ERA as a rookie last year in 14 appearances, including 10 starts.
