The Cincinnati Reds have reached agreement on a minor-league contract with outfielder Jeremy Hermida, a source told FOXSports.com.

Hermida batted .216 with six home runs and 29 RBIs last year in 73 games with Boston and Oakland. The deal will bring Hermida back to the National League, where he was once a top prospect with Florida.

Hermida, who turns 27 this month, profiles as a left-handed complement in an outfield that includes right-handed hitters Jonny Gomes, Drew Stubbs and Chris Heisey.
