Showalter ejected for 3rd time this season

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter has been ejected after Matt Wieters was called out on a third strike by third-base umpire Chris Guccione.

Showalter was ejected for the third time this season in the fifth inning on Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox. Wieters tried to stop his swing and was called out when home plate umpire Mark Wegner asked Guccione for help. Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia had appealed after throwing to second as Vladimir Guerrero tried to steal.

Second-base umpire Mike Winters called Guerrero out for a double play.
