Rosenthal: Rockies in discussion with Mariners about Mark Trumbo
The Colorado Rockies are reportedly interested in acquiring a big stick.
FOX Sports baseball insider Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rockies are talking to the Seattle Mariners about slugger Mark Trumbo, who joined the Mariners last June after being traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

In five-plus major-league seasons, Trumbo, who has primarily played first base and the corner outfield positions, has hit .250/.300/.458 with 131 home runs and 409 RBI.
His best seasons came from 2011-13 as a member of the Los Angels Angeles, when he averaged 32 home runs and 94 RBI per year, finishing second in the AL Rookie of the Year voting in 2011.
Trumbo, who will turn 30 this offseason, made $6.9 million last season. He is third-year arbitration eligible and has yet to be offered a contract by the Mariners.
The tender deadline is midnight on Wednesday, and if Seattle decides to non-tender Trumbo, he will immediately become a free agent; however, as Rosenthal notes, it's more likely that he would be tendered a contract and then traded if the Mariners are interested in dealing him.
