NEW YORK (AP) NL home run leader Trevor Story of the Colorado Rockies has exited early against the New York Mets after jarring himself on the bases and in the field.
The rookie shortstop came out in the bottom of the fourth inning Saturday night after diving for Justin Ruggiano's single in the hole. In the top half of the inning, Story scrambled into second base and was tagged out while trying to advance on a bad throw on his RBI single.
Story has hit 27 homers and is batting .272 with 72 RBIs.
