Rockies' Morneau 'progressing' in recovery from concussion symptoms
It’s been over a month now since Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau went down after suffering concussion symptoms in a game against the Angels on May 13. In speaking to reporters Morneau said that he hated to be “vague,” but that the plan was for him to return before the end of the year, though there was no timetable. Per MLB.com:
"Everything is progressing, moving forward," Morneau said. "It's frustrating, but we have a pretty decent plan in place and we're starting to make progress.”
Morneau originally suffered a severe concussion in 2010 with the Twins. Hitting .319 in the first year of his contract with the Rockies last season, he is the reigning National League batting champion.
