Reports: Marlins agree to 2-year deal with free-agent OF/1B Morse
The Miami Marlins have agreed to a two-year deal with free-agent outfielder Mike Morse, FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal confirmed Tuesday.
Morse, 32, hit .279/.336/.475 with 16 homers and 61 RBI in 131 games with the San Francisco Giants last season. In his 10-season major-league career, he is a .281/.335/.473 hitter with 99 homers and 333 RBI.
The Marlins will be the fourth team in the past four seasons for Morse, who played for the Washington Nationals in 2012, the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles in 2013, and the Giants in 2014.
Morse is the latest addition in a busy offseason for the Marlins, who have acquired second baseman Dee Gordon and right-hander Dan Haren in a trade with the Dodgers, acquired right-hander Mat Latos in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds, and re-signed right fielder Giancarlo Stanton to a record-breaking 13-year, $325 million deal.
