Report: Yankees plan to ignore A-Rod's milestone home runs, bonuses
Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees may be heading toward a power struggle over the home run milestones the steroid-tainted slugger attains going forward, the New York Daily News reported Friday.
A Daily News source, however, reports the Bombers plan to not acknowledge this "milestone," or any other bonus triggered should Rodriguez reach Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714) and Mays' marks.
"They say the records are tainted," the source told the Daily News, "and therefore they're not milestones that can be marketed."
A-Rod can grieve the decision not to pay him, leaving it up to an arbitrator, the paper reported:
