The Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels reportedly weren't just engaged in talks about Ben Revere, but apparently were very close to finalizing a deal for the speedy outfielder.
According to the Boston Globe, the Phillies and Angels arranged a deal that would send Revere to Anaheim in exchange for pitcher Trevor Gott.
However, the Angels reportedly pulled out of the deal at the last minute and then attempted to arrange a deal that would include another pitcher but that trade fell through as well.
In 80 games for the Phillies this season, Revere is hitting .291/.328/.379 with one home run, 21 RBI, and 19 stolen bases.
