Report: Nationals outfielder Denard Span likely headed to DL

With the All-Star break just around the corner, it appears as though Washington Nationals outfielder Denard Span might be getting some extra rest.

MLB.com reports that Span, who saw a specialist Thursday to examine his back, will likely be placed on the 15-day disabled list.

The Nationals have yet to confirm the news.

Span has been dealing with back spasms intermittently for the past month. Although he's expected to head to the DL, Span's appointment on Thursday was said to have went well.
