Rays to activate Odorizzi from DL to start Saturday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Rays will bring right-hander Jake Odorizzi off the disabled list and start him Saturday against Houston, with Matt Moore pitching Sunday in their final game before the All-Star break.

Rays manager Kevin Cash made the announcement before Wednesday's game in Kansas City.

Odorizzi has missed 30 games while dealing with a strained left oblique that landed him on the DL on June 9. Along with All-Star Chris Archer, Odorizzi had been one of the bright spots in Tampa Bay's rotation, going 4-5 with a 2.47 ERA in his first 12 starts.

Moore will be making his third start following Tommy John surgery. The former All-Star has allowed eight runs over nine innings in his first two outings.
