Rays put shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera on DL

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) The Tampa Bay Rays have placed shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring and recalled infielder Tim Beckham from Triple-A Durham.

The moves were announced before Sunday's game against Houston.

Cabrera was hurt running the bases in the second inning of Saturday's 3-0 win over the Astros.

Cabrera has made just two errors at short this season. He is hitting .223 with five homers and 22 RBIs in 86 games.
