The prosecution could finish its case Monday in Barry Bonds' federal perjury trial.
The last government witness is anti-doping expert Dr. Don Catlin, and he is scheduled to finish testifying in the morning. Court staff are to then read a transcript of Bonds' grand jury testimony from December 2003 into the record.
The greatest long-ball hitter of his era is accused of lying to that grand jury when he denied knowingly taking performance-enhancing drugs.
Once Bonds' testimony is read into the record, his defense team will get a chance to call witnesses. Its list is short, however, and the case could go to the jury this week.
