Price believes his players will turn it around
Once the Reds get a runner into scoring position the team has hard a hard time driving them in. Cincinnati entered Wednesday's game, according to Reds.com, hitting just .194 with runners in scoring position.
Obviously that is a rough number and if the Reds want to compete for a National League Central title they are going to need to hit better in clutch situations.
So what can be done to improve?
Well there are still a lot of games left to be played and Reds manager Bryan Price simply thinks the numbers will even out.
The Reds manager knows his team is more talented than the numbers indicate so far and believes the results will come soon.
"We haven't been great in those enviornments to this point," Price told Reds.com. "But we do have guys who have been very successful in those situations in the past."
Pirce may be right, but patience only works for so long and although there is plenty of baseball left in the season, the whole "it's early" thing is running out of time.
