ST. LOUIS (AP) Rookie Gregory Polanco was among five players promoted from Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Manager Clint Hurdle said Polanco's playing time will depend on how he looks, and added he's been happy with Andrew Lambo's at-bats. Lambo started in right field Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Polanco was batting .241 with six homers, 30 RBIs and 12 stolen bases in 64 games for Pittsburgh.

The Pirates also recalled pitchers Casey Sadler, John Holdzkom and Bobby LaFromboise and infielder-outfielder Chase d'Arnaud. Pitcher Jeff Locke was recalled to start the game.

Holdzkom is the lone player with no previous major league experience. D'Arnaud is in the majors for the first time since 2012.
