Pirates sign pitcher Lindblom off waivers from A's
PITTSBURGH (AP) The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed pitcher Josh Lindblom off waivers from Oakland and added former major league manager Grady Little and former infielder Kevin Young to the front office.
Lindblom, 27, is 5-8 with a 3.82 ERA in 110 career games with four teams. He made one appearance for Oakland in 2014, spending most of the season at Triple-A Sacramento.
Little, who managed the Boston Red Sox from 2002-03 and the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2006-07, will serve as a senior adviser to general manager Neal Huntington. He most recently served as coach at Hickory Grove Christian prep school in North Carolina.
Young will serve as a special assistant with the Pirates. He played 11 of his 12 big league seasons in Pittsburgh and was a career .258 hitter.
The Pirates announced the moves Monday.
