Padres 3B dives into the stands for a great catch -- and a side of nachos

We've heard of pitchers who throw cheese, but this might be a first.

In the top of the ninth inning on Friday, San Diego Padres third baseman Yangervis Solarte dove into the stands in an attempt to snag a foul bat off the bat of the San Francisco Giants' Angel Pagan.

Solarte made an amazing grab for the first out of the inning -- and he got a little something extra for his trouble:

Solarte held on to the cheeseball, and the Padres held on for a 4-1 win.

Perhaps the Padres announcer said it best: "Excuse me, sir, but there’s a third baseman in my nachos."
