Orioles, top draft pick DJ Stewart of FSU, agree to terms

BALTIMORE (AP) The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to terms with Florida State outfielder DJ Stewart, the team's top draft pick in the 2015 draft.

Stewart was the 25th overall pick.

The 21-year-old Stewart hit .318 with 15 homers and 59 RBIs in 64 games this season as a junior.

Orioles scouting director Gary Raisich said Stewart will report to Single-A Aberdeen on Sunday.

Stewart is a 6-foot, 225-pound, left-handed batter. He was the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year after leading the league with a .351 batting average as a sophomore.

Raisich describes Stewart as a ''blue-collar baseball player.''

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
