Orioles' Kevin Gausman to start upon return from DL?
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman has been the center of debate during his young career. Many people see him as an asset in the bullpen, where his triple-digit heat can stop an offense in its tracks. Others see him as a starter and a possible ace on an often-criticized aceless rotation.
Gausman is currently on the disabled list, but he will get the chance to start once he is activated, according to the Baltimore Sun:
Once Gausman is ready to pitch, the plan is for him to get three starts at Norfolk, then possibly return to the Orioles based on the team's needs. He isn't eligible to be activated from the DL until May 22, so he could make a start or two for Norfolk before his return date.
This is apparently welcome news to Gausman, as he told the Sun the normalcy of the starting rotation might bode well for him arm:
"I think they're just going to want me to be on a regular amount of days and knowing when I'm going to pitch. I think that will be good for me. Maybe that is why my arm is acting up. I don't really know. I don't have any answers yet."
