The San Francisco Giants staged a late rally against the Chicago Cubs to avoid elimination with a 6-5 win over the NL Central champions in the 13th inning.
The Cubs led from the second inning on after a Jake Arrieta three-run home run but the Giants got to Aroldis Chapman in the eighth inning to take their first lead of the series. Kris Bryant tied the game with a home run in the top of the ninth before Joe Panik’s game-winning hit kept the Giants hopes alive.
