New York Yankees' Jason Zillo wins Fishel Award

SAN DIEGO (AP) Jason Zillo of the New York Yankees has won the Robert O. Fishel Award for public relations excellence, given annually by Major League Baseball.

Zillo, the Yankees' executive director of communications and media relations, has been with the team for 19 seasons, including eight as head of media relations.

The award, announced Monday at the winter meetings, is named after the inaugural winner, who worked for the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees and the American League.
