Nationals-Braves canceled because of rain

Published Mar. 28, 2011 3:24 p.m. ET

The game between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals scheduled for Monday night was canceled because of rain.

The game would have been the Braves' last in Florida before heading to Atlanta to play the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night and Wednesday. The Braves were 16-12-4 this spring.

They open the regular season on Thursday in Washington, with Derek Lowe facing the Nationals' Livan Hernandez.

The Nationals are scheduled to play the New York Mets in Port St. Lucie on Tuesday to conclude their spring schedule.
