MLB looks into Ethier's obscene gesture
Major League Baseball is looking into photos of Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier making an obscene gesture on the field before a game.
The photos, published on at least one sports website, were taken during batting practice before the Dodgers' 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. MLB spokesman Pat Courtney told The Associated Press on Friday: ''We're talking to the people involved in the incident.''
Ethier told reporters on Thursday he was frustrated with repeated camera clicks from one photographer taking the same picture. He apologized and called it a ''dumb incident.''
The All-Star outfielder had a 30-game hitting streak this season and is batting .318 on the year. But he entered Friday night's game at the Chicago White Sox mired in a 0-for-21 rut.
