Right-hander Mike Pelfrey has left the New York Mets' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after he was hit by a line drive in the fifth inning.

Pelfrey was diagnosed with a bruised right elbow. X-rays were negative.

The Mets led 4-2 when Gerardo Parra's liner hit Pelfrey on Saturday night. Trainers immediately went to the mound and the 6-foot-7 Pelfrey left the game.

Pelfrey, 6-9 going into the game, had pitched three scoreless innings after giving up two runs, one earned, in the first.
