Juan Lagares isn't an everyday player for the New York Mets. He's more of a defensive specialist, who's brought in to boot Yoenis Cespedes out of center field late in games when glove work is paramount. It's clear why the Mets have used him that way, because he's a wizard in the field.
On Wednesday night, Lagares made one of the best catches of the young season, bringing back memories of Willie Mays' unforgettable basket catch. And he covered 116.3 feet to make the grab.
