Mets mum on whether star pitcher deGrom is ailing

NEW YORK (AP) If there's something wrong with right-hander Jacob deGrom, the New York Mets aren't saying.

At least not so far.

Mets manager Terry Collins declined to say before Friday night's game against Washington whether deGrom is OK. Asked about deGrom's status, Collins said, ''I really can't discuss that just yet.''

The shaggy-haired star has been hit hard in losing his last three starts.

DeGrom got seven days off before pitching Thursday night because the Mets were worried he was fatigued. As he left the dugout after five innings against Miami, he waved for the team trainer to join him.

DeGrom insisted after the game that he all right. The 28-year-old is 7-8 with a 3.04 ERA in 24 starts.
