Mets ace Noah Syndergaard pays tribute to Harambe

The Mets’ ace took a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo on Tuesday

Noah Syndergaard will start for the Mets against the Reds in Cincinnati on Wednesday. He’s got some downtime, though, so a trip to the zoo was in order before Tuesday night’s game.

Yes, that’s right, the Cinicinatti Zoo. RIP Harambe.

Syndergaard, wearing a Harambe shirt, paid tribute to the late gorilla…

We suppose you can say that Thor’s hammer also paid tribute to Harambe. Yup, Thor’s hammer’s out for Harambe! 

In case you have been living under a rock these past few months, Harambe was shot and killed by a worker at the Cincinnati Zoo in May after a three-year old climbed into the gorilla’s enclosure and was dragged.

The killing has sparked a public outcry from many animal rights supporters — as well as tons of memes.

The shirt Syndergaard is wearing in his Instagram post is from Barstool Sports, where Thor also purchased tons of Big Sexy Bartolo Colon shirts for his entire family. You can say that he’s quite the Stoolie.

Thor has a terrific sense of humor, and he’s also a force to be reckoned with on the mound.

The smile he flashes will be gone by the time he takes the hill in Cincinnati on Wednesday afternoon, hopefully with the Mets going for a three-game sweep of the Reds.
