Matt Harvey expected to be ready to pitch Game 5 for Mets
While there was some concern about the swelling in his arm, it appears as though Matt Harvey will take the mound for the New York Mets in a potential Game 5 of the NLCS.
"He's a lot better today," manager Terry Collins said Tuesday. "He looks like he'll be ready for Game 5."
Collins expressed concern about Harvey's availability Monday after the 26-year-old right-hander's arm swelled up after he was hit by a comebacker in Game 1 of the NLCS on Saturday.
However, after Harvey threw a bullpen with no ill effects before Game 3 on Tuesday, the Mets are confident he'll be ready to go for Thursday's potential Game 5 at Wrigley Field.
The Mets have won both games in which Harvey has started this postseason, during which he's compiled a 2.84 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings.
