Marlins teammates help create mural in Brazil in honor of Jose Fernandez
Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, closer A.J. Ramos and former Marlins and current Los Angeles Angels pitcher Ricky Nolasco are remembering the life of Jose Fernandez by helping create a mural in Brazil.
The three players are vacationing in the country and helped create the mural, which features Fernandez’s No. 16, the Cuban flag, the word “Nino,” along with the autographs of all three players.
Stanton posted images from his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Fernandez was killed on Sept. 25 at age 24 when a boat he was riding with two friends, Emilio Macias and Eduardo Rivero, crashed off of South Beach in Miami.
The team wore his No. 16 number in their next game and the Marlins announced that no other player would ever wear the jersey number again.
