Edwin Rodriguez enjoyed a successful debut as interim manager of the Florida Marlins, who got home runs from Gaby Sanchez and Jorge Cantu in a 7-5 comeback victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.
Florida made up a four-run deficit to earn its third straight win. The previous two came under Fredi Gonzalez, who was fired Wednesday morning after 3 1/2 seasons on the job.
Rodriguez, who was summoned from Triple-A New Orleans, milked 119 pitches out of starter Ricky Nolasco (6-6) before calling upon his struggling bullpen to hold onto a 6-4 lead.
Corey Patterson had a season-high three RBIs, and Luke Scott and Adam Jones homered for the Orioles, who have dropped 21 of 25 and are assured of losing an 11th straight series.
