Mariners' Caminero ejected after hitting Rangers' Andrus
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Seattle reliever Arquimedes Caminero has been ejected after hitting Texas' Elvis Andrus with a pitch.
Caminero hit Andrus in the ribs with a high 98 mph fastball two batters after allowing a two-run homer to Rougned Odor on Wednesday. It was the third homer of the game for the Rangers.
In the second inning, Andrus ran into Mariners first baseman Dae-Ho Lee while running out a groundball. Andrus tried to apologize, but Lee didn't look pleased.
Andrus was checked with the Texas athletic trainer as he was led toward first base with manager Jeff Banister by his side as well while Seattle manager Scott Servais tried to plead Caminero's case.
Caminero was ejected May 24 while with Pittsburgh after hitting two Arizona batters in the head. The right-hander hit Jean Segura in the seventh and Nick Ahmed in the eighth.
