Manny channels his inner Michael?
The latest US Department of the Treasury statistics show Taiwan holds roughly $190 billion of United States debt. Maybe we should have had the Asian state wipe the books clean before we sent it Manny Ramirez.
For the Taiwanese, he’s the gift that keeps on giving.
But while his exploits on (and off, and around) the base paths (and in the airport) have become instant legend, this time it is the Taiwanese media that steals the show.
For a change, Manny wasn’t doing anything too outrageous. He took a might hack, he missed, and his momentum sent him out of the batter’s box and backpedalling toward the dugout.
We’ve seen this before in the majors plenty of times. And while we cannot confirm it has ever happened in the Chinese Professional Baseball League, it’s hard to imagine it hasn’t. But this time, Manny did it — and this Taiwanese broadcast mashed his at-bat with Michael Jackson moonwalking video. You likely don’t understand what the announcers are saying … it likely won’t keep you from enjoying it.
Or for that, matter, enjoying this.
Or this.

Or this.
Or this. (Fans greet Manny in his first game in Taiwan — with a poster of Johnny Cueto.)
