Adam Lind was scratched from the Toronto Blue Jays lineup after feeling soreness in his back before Friday night's game against the Minnesota Twins.

Out since May 7, Lind was pain-free after workouts the previous two days.

Toronto manager John Farrell said Lind felt a ''pounding sensation'' in the lower-left side of his back after taking ground balls and running the bases on Friday.

Farrell said that Lind remains day to day.

Juan Rivera will take Lind's DH spot against the Twins.
