Lincecum scratched from start against Phils

Published Jul. 26, 2011 7:18 p.m. ET

San Francisco Giants right-hander Tim Lincecum was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies because of the flu.

The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner was replaced by left-hander Barry Zito (3-2, 4.78), who was originally scheduled to start Wednesday's game.

Lincecum (8-8, 2.90 ERA) is day to day and could pitch in Wednesday night's game. He is 2-1 with a 3.11 ERA in seven career starts against the Phillies.
