Lincecum not ready to pitch for San Francisco

Published Jul. 27, 2011 7:22 p.m. ET

San Francisco Giants right-hander Tim Lincecum still isn't feeling well and might not make a start against the Philadelphia Phillies.

He was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday against the Phillies because of the flu. Matt Cain (8-6, 3.06 ERA) started against the Phillies on Wednesday. The Giants have not named a starter for Thursday's finale.

Manager Bruce Bochy says he's hopeful Lincecum (8-8, 2.90 ERA) can gain back his strength and pitch Thursday. Bochy expects to make a decision on Thursday.

The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner is 2-1 with a 3.11 ERA in seven career starts against the Phillies.
