Lawyer of ex-Mets P Jenrry Mejia suing MLB, alleging 'years of corrupt mob-like activity'

Vincent White, the attorney of banned New York Mets pitcher Jenrry Mejia who claimed his client was part of a steroid conspiracy by Major League Baseball, is taking legal action against MLB for what he claims to be "corrupt, mob-like activity."

White released a statement on Monday announcing an upcoming press conference to reveal a lawsuit that he claims will "uncover years of corruption" inside MLB.

White alleges that a "detailed multi year investigation" revealed the league broke a number of laws that include extortion threats, obstruction of justice and invasion of privacy, among other things.

It was initially reported that Mejia was bringing the lawsuit, but White told Lindsey Adler of Buzz Feed News that wasn't the case.

Meja retained White following the announcement of his lifetime ban in February, after he failed a third PED test in one calendar year. White claimed Mejia was the victim of a league witch hunt that conspired to bring him down.
