LaRoche removed with back tightness

Published Jul. 29, 2012 4:59 p.m. ET

Washington Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche left his team's game Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers due to tightness in his back.

LaRoche singled in the fourth and advanced to second when Michael Morse was hit by a pitch. He did not show any signs of the injury while on base, then was replaced by Tyler Moore in the middle of the inning.

He has been bothered by lingering tightness in his side and lower back. The team said he was day to day.

LaRoche is batting .262 with 19 homers and 61 RBIs in 94 games.
