Lady GaGa flips off Mets fans

Published Jun. 10, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

Lady GaGa is one of the most beloved celebrities in the world, but inside the walls of the New York Mets' Citi Field Thursday she was persona non grata.

The suite was apparently too close for comfort and she asked to be moved. Whether irked by her vacating the best seat in the house or arriving halfway through the fifth inning, Mets heads showered her with a wave of boos typically reserved for rival stars like Chipper Jones.

Once it became clear that she couldn't command this crowd, Lady GaGa pulled out the oldest trick in the book — the double middle finger — as she retreated to Jerry Seinfeld's luxury box.

The performance on the field wasn't much prettier. The Mets limped to two hits in a 4-2 loss to the San Diego Padres.
