Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez is scheduled to face contempt charges that he violated a judge's order not to contact his girlfriend.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says Rodriguez is to be arraigned on Wednesday on charges that he violated an order of protection by sending text messages to his girlfriend.

The 28-year-old reliever is already facing third-degree assault and harassment charges for assaulting his girlfriend's father outside a family lounge at Citi Field. He was told to keep away from him and his daughter, the mother of his twins. But Queens prosecutors say he sent her 56 text messages, mostly asking for forgiveness.

Rodriguez was 4-2 with 25 saves and a 2.24 ERA this season.
