K-Rod climbing up the all-time saves list

With his 359th career save on Monday night, Francisco Rodriguez surpassed Troy Percival and moved into ninth place on the all-time saves list.

“This is the guy who took all the time in the world to make sure I was ready to take over as a closer,” Rodriguez told Brewers.com. “To me, it means a lot. Hopefully wherever he is, he'll feel proud of me and know that he didn't waste his time with me.”

Rodriguez, 33, has had a very productive career and one reason for that is his ability to keep hitters off balance.

“We can't guess with him because you just don't know what's coming,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. “He always seems to be one step ahead of the hitter.”
