JT flubs, then recovers quickly

If there was a referee on the field at Fenway Park Thursday night, James Taylor would have gotten flagged for a false start.

The legendary singer was supposed to perform the ā€œStar-Spangled Bannerā€ during the seventh inning of Game 2 of the World Series, but accidentally bellowed out the first line of ā€œAmerica the Beautifulā€ instead.

Listen to the flub:

Taylor was reportedly supposed to sing ā€œAmerica the Beautifulā€ – as he did prior to Game 2 of the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox World Series’ runs – but there was a last-minute change.

Boston Marathon bombing survivors later sang ā€œAmerica the Beauitfulā€ during the seventh-inning stretch.

Confused yet? Well, so are we, so we don’t really blame Taylor, who made a seamless transition.
