Jackson's recent offensive tear benefiting struggling Mariners
The Seattle Mariners have been looking for something to cheer about lately, and they got it on Saturday night when outfielder Austin Jackson bailed the team out with a clutch go-ahead home run in in the seventh inning of an eventual 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Jackson's been a revelation for the M's since returning from the disabled list in May, as he's done particularly well over his past ten games:

Jackson told Bob Dutton of the News Tribune that while he doesn't hit very many home runs (he only has 49 in his six-year career), last night's felt particularly good due to its context. He still admitted that he and his teammates are struggling to be consistent on offense: “It’s tough right now,” Jackson said. “We’re grinding. We’re just not getting the results we want, but the positive thing is we’re getting the guys out there. Eventually, we'll start to find some holes and find some grass (with runners on base)."
With sluggers like Robinson Cano still having issues hitting like they 'should', the offensive emergence of someone like Jackson will really help the Mariners get back on track with their offense - if he can keep it up, of course.
