Right-hander Gavin Floyd has signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Indians, giving him a chance to make a comeback from his latest elbow surgery.

The club announced the deal Tuesday.

The 31-year-old pitcher broke a bone in his elbow while throwing a curveball with Atlanta last June. He had surgery and couldn't resume throwing until after the season. That injury occurred during his ninth start since returning from Tommy John ligament surgery.

Floyd is reported to get $4 million base salary with $6 million in performance incentive, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
