Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer cuts finger, won't start Game 2

CLEVELAND (AP) Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer cut the pinkie finger on his right hand and will not start Game 2 of the AL Championship Series against Toronto.

Cleveland says Bauer needed several stitches to close the cut, the latest medical setback for the Indians' rotation. There is no immediate word on how Bauer got hurt.

Josh Tomlin, scheduled to pitch Game 3 in Toronto on Monday, will replace Bauer on Saturday. Bauer is slated to pitch Monday when the best-of-7 series resumes at Rogers Centre.

Bauer made his postseason debut in the AL Division Series opener and pitched into the fifth inning against Boston.

Indians manager Terry Francona has been juggling his rotation for weeks after Carlos Carrasco (broken hand) and Danny Salazar (forearm tightness) sustained injuries in the final month of the regular season. Neither of the right-handers has pitched in the postseason.
