Indians' Hagadone on DL with back strain

Published Jul. 8, 2015 4:03 p.m. ET

CLEVELAND (AP) Reliever Nick Hagadone has been put on the Cleveland Indians' 15-day disabled list due to a strained lower back.

Hagadone has a 4.28 ERA in 36 games this season. This is the 29-year-old left-hander's second career trip to the DL. He broke his left forearm in 2012.

To take Hagadone's spot, the Indians recalled lefty Kyle Crockett from Triple-A Columbus before Wednesday night's game against the Houston Astros.

Crockett is 2-1 with a 6.33 ERA in 25 games for the Clippers. He has appeared in five games this season for Cleveland, pitching 3 2-3 scoreless innings.
